I've not had it long, but I have the TV, stereo amp, subwoofer amp and other things plugged in. Only heard it click once so I guess my line voltage is decent. Turns out the same unit was recommended days later for my stage amps, so I bought a second one. The voltage at the first club I played was different in every outlet I tested w the volt meter, the lowest being 115v up to 130v. Trip Lite was steady at 120v nominal.

After having power outages, and realize that the emergency generator would not charge my UPS system (most generators wont) I placed this power conditioner before my UPS and all is GREAT.. Very quit, no worries !

Great effective insurance for your equipment

If you live somewhere with dodgy power you need something like this to protect your equipment. It doesn't make sense to buy a bunch of expensive electronics and then plug them into a cheap power strip from the hardware store. You'll be surprised by how often you hear the Power Conditioner clicking as it adjusts for momentary sags and surges. Also, paper warranties sound great, but its much better to prevent the damage from happening in the first place with an AVR instead of trying to find out if a company is really going to honor that warranty. I chose a Power Conditioner instead of a UPS because batteries will always wear out. If you live in Hawaii, buying a replacement battery is unlikely to ever happen with the new Federal regulations on air shipments of large batteries. I fully expect this Power Conditioner to last many years unlike the "home" UPS you often see in stores that are only designed to last a couple of years. This won't supply power for your equipment if the power goes out for more than a second, but for momentary power fluctuations, which do the majority of the damage where I live, I think this is the best protection I can buy. Recommended.

I recently installed a digital X-Ray. It failed to function because the city regularly supplies 139 volts rather than 120. This Tripp Lite voltage regulator was the perfect and inexpensive solution to control the voltage. It's also great to have the surge protection.

Actually a five star for performance for what it is designed to do, the reduction to four stars is a to prod Tripp-Lite to modernize the casing for mobile use. Also to create a combination conditioner & isolation units for both studio and stage equipment with small bands or the solo musician in mind. It is fairly heavy, as it handles a full 15 amp circuit and also has a very quiet hum from the transformer within the unit, only audible 6" away from it, which is not an issue except perhaps if you located it within a vocal recording booth. All those wall warts are affected by varying voltage, so having constant voltage ensures constant sound. This unit allows using unknown power sources without much concern, and keeping it smooth.
