The ThinkPad Thunderbolt 2 Workstation Dock is powerful and full-featured. I am able to consolidate all of the connections from my ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 Laptop, four ThinkVision T27i-30 Monitors, and a USB Hub into the Dock's rear panel. All of the laptop's connections are free to use, which provides more convenience and versatility in my daily work. The dock is lightweight and small enough to carry with me when traveling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The docking station has difficulty waking the external monitor (connected by DP) after being put to sleep by Windows, and requires a restart in some cases, without any ability to predict when that will happen. Even on those occasions when the screen does wake up, it often wakes it up a few moments after waking up the Lenovo laptop's screen, which ends up moving all windows that were active on the second display over to the laptop's screen. It also results in Windows resetting the wallpaper on the external monitor to use the one on the laptop's screen. A lot of attempts to fix this, and no luck so far. For as much as this device costs, one would expect far better usability from the start. Note: using latest firmware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dock itself has been great. I like the high amount of different USB ports. The only down side is actually with ordering. With the set dock bundles I had to search and triple check i was getting the correct power supply instead of just getting to pick the power supply I needed.
