On both my old Macbooks (both running Windows at 2K res and 4K res) it looks fantastic while on a newer Lenovo with a built-in Intel Graphics card the colors are not great though it does have 4K res. Macs and I think HP seem to have the best display cards. Firefox renders better than Edge.

Colors look amazingly true, shades and gradations are beautiful making pictures look like photographic prints. Better than Apple's 5 K display IMHO. Best display in USA in this price range. Would have liked more brightness, 350 cd/m2 is low.

I was originally looking at the Benq SW270C (1440p) even though I wanted 4k resolution since I also do video. The 4k version of that monitor (SW271C) was about twice the price. Then I found out those monitors are not true 10bit color. I kept researching and ended up coming across the Viewsonic VP2786-4K. It was true 10bit color, came with a cool control dial that doubles as a colorimeter, and 4K resolution. Roughly $200USD more than the 1440p Benq SW, and about $500-600USD less than the 4K comparable Benq SW monitor. Unfortunately at the time of this review, I could not find a single review of this monitor since it is so new. So I took a chance and ordered it. The monitor is packed very well. It comes with various cables including power, usb c, DisplayPort, and a few others. The Colorpro wheel is a cool addition and functions as the interface tool for the monitor menu as well as a colorimeter. It has some functionality with Adobe Photoshop and Premiere only at this time. It can also be used for monitor calibration. Unfortunately, it feels very cheap and turning the dial does not seem to register scrolling through menus evenly. It's very evident when changing the brightness. One other gripe I have is how short the cable connecting it is. The included monitor shade is made of felt, and connects easily with magnets to the monitor. It feels nice and high quality. The monitor stand is also very high quality, being mostly composed of metal, making it somewhat heavy. It's a tad over 9" depth, and has a specific storage spot for the colorpro wheel. The monitor speakers sound like most monitor speakers I've experienced. Cheap and worse than a phone speaker. But if you're buying this monitor, you're probably not looking for great built in speakers. The screen is beautiful, with a matte anti glare finish which helps reduce glare and reflections. I was able to use my Spyder 5 Pro colorimeter to verify color accuracy, and it was over 99% Adobe RGB. There is very minimal light bleed on my specific monitor. There is some in the right side corners, but like I said, very minimal. I've seen much worse on other monitors, and it's nearly unavoidable for bezel-less monitors. The back of the monitor includes a lamp that lights up the area behind it (it lights up the wall if you have it up against a wall) to help reduce eye strain in dark conditions. It's optional to turn on, and has 3 different temperature settings. Cool, Normal, and Warm. Most of the color modes are great, but the "Photographer" setting has a ridiculous amount of sharpening added and in my opinion is not useable. There is also a printer type usb cable included for future firmware updates, so hold onto that. Overall, for the price, this is the best monitor you can buy that has this many features, certifications, and color accuracy. The cheap colorpro wheel is a disappointment, but it's not a huge deal for me. This has hardware built in to the monitor for saving calibrations. You do not have to use the included colorimeter exclusively for calibrations, either. I was able to use my Spyder Pro 5. I could not find a better monitor for the price with as many features, and have been very happy using this over the past week. I gave 4 stars due to the cheap colorpro wheel and the ridiculous amount of sharpening in some modes. Otherwise, I highly recommend this if it's within your budget because there is currently nothing else with full adobe rgb, 4k resolution, soft proofing, included colorimeter and backlight anywhere near this price. Hope this helps anyone on the fence. Just buy it!
