This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge todo a beta test and review. The scanner was easy to setup once I determined that it does not have WiFi even though the documentation is not clear on this point, since the documentation is for multiple models of the scanner. The scanner has simple buttons on the front to use for scanning as well as great software that you download from Epson.com. The scanner has the ability to scan up to 1200 DPI which is great when scanning old pictures. It enhanced the quality of the photos greatly. When using the software you can even scan credit cards or ID cards by turning by selecting Plastic Cards as the paper type. You can even scan both sides of the cards at the same time and have the software stitch them together on a single piece of paper. The scanner has a large document feeder that can hold unto 100 sheets of paper which is great when scanning a lot of documents at one time.
The only downside of this scanner is that it is not WiFi or network enabled, you must connect it to a computer. It also lacks the ability to use a mobile device to scan to. It also does not have a control panel on the scanner to manage the scanner settings. The front panel has 5 buttons and a small section with 3 indicator lights is you encounter a problem. Since it lacks a control panel you do not really have much information if a problem occurs.
If you are looking for a scanner that is fast and up to 1200 DPI I would highly recommend this scanner for a home/home office setting where you only have one computer that will need to use it.

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. The scanner arrived in perfect shape despite the box being extremely battered in transit. The Styrofoam took most of the damage and little pieces went everywhere. Unpacking the scanner was very straightforward. It comes with a power cord, adapter, and USB cable. The “Start Here” guide was very basic with not a lot of words or detailed pictures. The first step was to remove all packing materials and tape. Next, plug the cord into the adapter and turn the machine on. Then you are supposed to install the software. I visited the link provided for my scanner and it kept taking me to “page not found”, so I eventually did a basic search of the model number and found the drivers for my scanner. I followed the on-screen prompts which led me to plugging the USB port into the computer and following the rest of the setup automatically. The whole machine setup was very straightforward and easy.
After the software is installed, the scanner is ready to use. Although at this point, I had to go back to the support page and download the user manual because the display is not labeled, it’s just buttons with characters. The scanner has an output tray and extension which fold out very easily but also fold back in to make the scanner much more compact. There is also a paper guide so you can choose the width of the material that you’re scanning. Basically, at this point, you can load in your media and start scanning. It can handle multiple pages at once and it scans very fast. I was not happy with the standard DPI default, so I found the Epson Scan 2 App and was able to change the settings from there. You can choose single/double sided, image type (color, grayscale, black & white), the resolution, the format, file name, and what folder the documents go into. There are a ton of advanced settings as well, including adjusting the brightness, contrast, gamma, and more. I also like that you can do a preview scan and see what adjustments need to be made before making it a document. I also like that it brings up the folder that has the document in it automatically, so you aren’t searching for your freshly scanned files.
I think the scanner does a good job at scanning most things. For basic office documents, this scanner is very nice. There are a lot of things this scanner says you shouldn’t scan though, like photos, artwork, or anything wrinkled. Things are easily jammed if they are even slightly wrinkled, but it is very easy to take them back out by opening up the front cover and just removing them.
The quality of the scan improves with the resolution and the quality on general documents is crisp and clear. The quality on colored documents is not as crisp or as nice quality as the originals, but very nice quality for general office documents.
All in all, this is a nice scanner for basic office documents! It wasn’t overly difficult to set up, it’s a good size, it’s fast, and it works well!

Great for office setting

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. First of all, I love the small/compact size since I have limited space in my work area. I was let down to read that you should not scan photos or artwork, since that is what I was primarily hoping to scan and upload. Nevertheless, it does very good at what it is intended to do. Scan regular documents. I did notice that the quality is much better in scanning black and white vs. color. It is very quick at scanning, but being able to load up to 100 documents at a time to scan is also very useful and time saving. (Sorry to back track) Setting up the scanner was fairly quick and easy. I do wish that it would have come with a user’s guide, but it does tell you where you can download it. Overall, this is a good scanner for an office type setting. It’s quick, compact, and makes scanning several documents a much easier, less time consuming task. To me, the downsides are not being able to scan things other than regular documents and no wifi capabilities. I would definitely recommend it if you do not need it for anything other than scanning regular documents, and especially if you are scanning several at a time.

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
This DS-770 II scanner by Epson has been a very big help to me. FIrst off it is really fast! I previously scanned documents using my All-in-one printer's automatic feed scanner but this is at a whole other level! It quickly scans BOTH sides of the page in one go and i have multiple options for what format the output is in. I find the OCR to be very accurate and am very satisfied with the searchable PDF output.
The included software does a great job and it can also connect via TWAIN to my other existing scanning software seamlessly. The feeding tray can also easily be adjusted to many widths and makes it super easy to scan multiple reciepts for reimbursement!
This is deffinately pro-sumer and above quality

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This scanner is one of the best desktop scanners I've used. It's straight through paper path reduces jams, a common problem I experienced with the ADH scanners built into multi-function printers that use a "C" paper path. The machine handles all different paper types I throw at it - from thick envelopes to small gas station receipts. Additionally, the ability to disable the multi-feed page detection enables the machine to scan papers with post-its.
The software works well on my computer. A tip, however, is to ensure that the USB port you connect it to is a proper USB 3.0 port and is not a USB 2.0 port as commonly found in USB hubs, including those built into computer monitors. The driver works well to scan and organize files and the OCR works better than I was expecting. Additionally, the scanner has a standard TWAIN interface that allows me to use any scanner application, such as those built into fax software.
Overall, this machine is worth the money - especially if you can expense the cost to your employer. The consumables are easy to clean and replace when it's time to (a piece many scanner owners forget.) It's notable to mention that my machine came with a 3 year advanced replacement warranty which means that they'll send you a new scanner before you send back your broken scanner (which could save on shipping.) Overall strong recommendation for this machine.

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This scanner was by far hands down the best smoothest running and easy setup ever. Was up and running in a few minutes and was very easy to scan anything I needed from receipts to invoices. Easy to send to the appropriate places and your go to scan some more. I have never really liked a scanner more then I have this one it's just easy and effortless.

This is a review for the Epson DS-770 II Color Duplex Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. With the amount of work I have been recently doing especially due to working at home, I had been looking for a good heavy duty scanner. I am very happy with the scanner over all. The size is compact and does not feel bulky at all. The over all packaging was pretty nice and brought in safely if you order online. Setting up the scanner was very simply. Everything was pretty much just out of the box. Instructions were self explanatory. It can scan to Evernote, SharePoint, Google Drive. It can scan up to 45 ppm/90 ipm duplex scanning, compatible with most document management systems, It has enhanced features including Slow Speed Mode, programmable jobs, and a peak daily duty cycle of up to 7,000 sheets. The scanner does a pretty job of scanning except if the paper is even slightly wrinkled then it gets jammed. But it is easy to open and remove the paper. All in all a great product for the price. I am happy with it.
