This drive making an endless ticking sound when data gets written to the drive. It’s too bad because the housing is so slick but the sound is maddening.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super easy to use

I always go with Western Digital for hard drives because it’s a brand name that I trust. I’ve been using their products for over 20 years. I recently purchased this to replace the Time Machine that I had and Apple obsoleted. This hard drive has been super easy to set up and quick in the transfer of data. I can’t recommend it enough.
I would recommend this to a friend!
