I have two devices like this and both have leaks between the reservoir and the base, I really regret the purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This humidifier was easy to use and I was breathing comfortably within minutes. The programming features are great to help me plan for when I want the humidifier will turn on and off for me.

It is easy to set up and the setting are easy to use. The humidifier mists great and really helps with stuffy noses and coughs ! I would recommend this humidifier to anyone!
