This is a very good scanner which is compatible with Catalina although using a Beta software version at the moment which I needed some assistance from Canon to obtain. It replaces my no longer supported DR 2010.

ITS OK BUT

THIS SCANNER IS OK IF YOU DON'T SCAN TOO MANY PAPERS AT ONE TIME. I WORK WITH MEDICAL RECORDS, I SOMETIMES GET RECORDS OVER AN INCH IN THICKNESS. THIS SCANNER REPLACED MY OLD SCANNER THE DR-6010C. THIS SCANNER IS NICE AND COMPATIBLE AND DOES NOT TAKE UP MUCH SPACE BUT IT DOES NOT BEAT THE SPEED AND PAPER CAPACITY OF THE OLD ONE. PLUS IT WOULD HELP IF IT INCLUDED A CATCH TRAY AT THE BOTTOM TO CATCH SCANNED PAPER INSTEAD OF PUSHING IT TOWARDS YOU. THERE IS THE OPTION TO CATCH IT ON TOP BUT, IN MY JOB, I AM CONSTANTLY FEEDING IN PAPER TO SCAN. SO THE TOP EXIT CHOICE IS NOT VERY IDEAL. LIKE I SAID, ITS OK BUT...

Canon consistently fails to maintain drivers for MacOS updates. Costing me hours of billable time each year figuring out how to work around.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice and compact, so travels well. It does not like thick paper- so my review is based on that. It jams and therefore you need to restart the entire process. It will not allow you to clear the jam and resend the papers post clearing the jam. It is also a little tricky to figure out how to work through where it saves the files. Working through these issues and hope I get better with time.
