Heart Rate

Great watch, everything you could ever want in a watch. Only problem I have had is the heart rate accuracy is terrible. I’ve worn the watxh super tight or even loosened it, moved it around my wrist and even switched wrist. It still never is anywhere close to my actually heart rate

Couldn’t Have Gotten a Better Watch

I got the Garmin Instinct 2 for Christmas and the first thing I would like to compliment is the battery life. It came fully charged in the box and lasted 28 days, just like it said it would. I also really loved how easy the set up for this device was, the instructions were easy to read and easy to follow and I haven’t had a problem with connection since I set it up. An Apple Watch could not even compare to Garmin watches in my opinion, as an owner of both. The watch face is clear to read and you can set it up how you would like for it to look. As for the watch itself, I’ve already put it through the ringer- getting paint on it, slamming it on hard surfaces, swimming with it on, drywall dust landing all over it- rinse it off and it’s back to brand new. No scratches on the glass, no scuffing on the watch. This is the perfect buy for someone who is a little adventurous, loves to exercise, or just wants something durable that will last through the everyday life wear and tear.

Not good for everyday use

Not good as a activity watch.
Battery life drops from 28 to 21 days in half days then levels off after.
Weather is off by degrees in my area even though I have the city inputted
Floors climb don't calculate or work if your carrying an item
Steps count is garbage and only work if your moving your arm. I wake up with 500 steps.
Sleep time is off.
Temperature is off as I check with three thermostats
Pulse ox is off unless your laying down
Returned

Hoping for reliability- durability

Purchased about 3 weeks ago to replace failed FitBit Charge 5. The Fitbits I’ve had in the past last about a year, maybe 2 - the 5 lasted a week which convinced me look to Garmin Instinct 2.
Honestly, the cost kept me away in the past - could purchase 3 Fitbit’s for 1 Instinct 2 or 4-5 Fitbit’s for an Instinct 2 Solar. I did shy from the solar to avoid the extra hundred plus. I also shyed from the Apple Watch choices - concerned with durability.
The Garmin feels rugged enough, time will tell. Pretty much the same features - less the color on the fitbit these days.
