Overall an ok watch, but not for it's price.

The weather function is a lie, it's almost never able to display. Seems to have an issue connecting to my phone. After reading up on the weather function it seems this is a very common problem GARMIN doesn't care to fix. I would return it, if it weren't a gift.

Love the features

I came from another smartwatch, and I am glad I made the change. I love the battery life, the features, the morning routine, and customization options. Some may detract due to the lack of touch screen, but I was able to adjust to using the side buttons rather quickly. Overall, I have been really impressed with this watch and the features.

Perfect work watch.

So I received watch as a Christmas present and I love it. I wear to work every day. I’m a builder so it takes a beating most days. My cell phone is paired with watch so I can see phone calls, text, emails on my watch instead of having to carry my phone all the time. Needless to say my phone loves the watch too as it gets to stay in the truck where it’s safe!

Lots and Lots of Data.

Purchased the Instinct 2 to replace my Vivofit 3. I'm satisfied that I made the right decision. Here is what I like and a few things that you may want to know if you are considering buying this watch. What I Like. 1. Battery life. This is the primary reason that I purchased and Instinct 2 instead of a new Vivofit. I occasionally do 100 mile rides and I wanted to make sure I had the battery capacity for this. (I'm 70 years old and don't finish century rides in under 6 hours). 2. Lots and Lots of data. It could be data overload. At my age, I'm trying to slow the decay, not beat yesterday. But the hints and advice available on the have been helpful. I'm focusing a bit more on my aerobic capacity, which will be helpful. Things to Consider. 1. I don't have a problem using the buttons instead of the touch screen. I previously used a Garmin 900 series and this is similar. But if you need a touch screen, this watch is not for you. 2. The display is not a bright as the VivoActive. That helps battery life. But I also have presbyopia - I can't see small items and need more light. It's what happens to most of us as we age. However, I have no problem seeing the workout data while I'm in decent sunlight. 3. All that data can be overload and if you are not careful, it might lead to more stress. Here is one example. Long before I started exercising regularly, I was diagnosed with sinus bradycardia - a slow heart rate. I also have mild sleep apnea. Both of these lead to some instability in heart rate variability (HRV). The result is I don't have a good sleep score and receive advice that I should rest or complete only a light workout. At the same time I see that I have an anaerobic deficit in my exercise. Conflicting advice. So I basically ignore it. DON'T BECOME A SLAVE TO THE DATA. Do what you feel.

Beats any weather condition

So far I have had this watch for about a month. It has seen sunshine, rain, sleet, and snow. I am loving it. I go all over and this watch has held up so far. Not very fashionable but worth the money. I learn a new feature on the watch almost everyday.

I have always been an old school watch kind of guy, although my friend bought me this for a Christmas present and it has been the best gift ever. It has almost unlimited options for tracking your fitness, and much much more.
