Instinct 2

So far so good! I have had a gen 1 and a solar gen 1. The solar gen 1 was a disappointment and didn’t last 2 years. My Instinct 1 was very good for 4 years until I cracked the screen at work. So far the 2 has been rock solid.

Very good watch

I've had the watch for 3-4 weeks now. It keeps good information and lots of features which I'll be figuring out for a while...lol . The drawbacks so far one is the silicone band it does not agree with my skin so purchasing a nylon one and it doesn't seem to be as easy with counting steps as is fitbit or I health usually a few 1000 short of their numbers

Best battery life

I had an Instinct for 3 1/2 years before getting the Instinct 2 last month. Really love the battery life and all of the health features. This watch will do so much more than I can use. Will purchase again if this one ever goes down.

Great watch for hiking!

I love this watch! I had a Samsung watch that had a beautiful display and lots of features -- one of which is that I had to charge it every day.
Even with almost daily hikes, the Instinct 2 goes for two weeks before it needs charging. It doesn't have a fancy color display or a touch screen, but I don't care, it has a great GPS, a good enough display, integrates seamlessly with Strava, and long battery life.
The UI takes a little getting used to, but I highly recommend this watch if you want to track your activities.
I highly recommend it!

Great watch! More than a watch!

A complete powerhouse of exercise, health, and gps tools on your wrist. I bought the watch 3 weeks ago and have enjoyed these tools immensely and it has opened up a whole range of new trails to hike between the gps and related apps.

Not as user friendly as touch screen
on September 6, 2023

You have to push buttons for everything. I had Vivoactive 3 which I could do things by swiping the screen. I bought it for some other options it had like measuring blood oxygen. If you want true answers you should keep the survey anonymous and not require name and email address fortunately I have an email I never use or check.

Great Watch for Tracking Workouts
on September 12, 2023

Always-on display is easy to read outdoors or inside if there's at least a little ambient light, otherwise the backlight can be used. This makes the watch far more useful for sports/exercise tracking where you don't want to have to flick your wrist and wait for the display to wake up before you can see anything. Default display contains all the info I want instant access to, but it is highly customizable if you want to see other info by default. Large bezel size, relatively light weight, and micro-adjustable wrist band (lots of holes) combine to enable the watch to get a reliable heart rate even while running without having to cinch down on the strap and make the watch uncomfortable. It doesn't flop around on your wrist like heavier metal-framed watches. The lack of a touchscreen prevents accidental inputs messing up your workout data if you happen to brush against the screen. The raised bezel should protect the watch from damage in most drops/impacts. In summary, this is a good watch for someone who primarily wants to track workouts and considers the smart-watch features to be secondary. If your priorities are the reverse, you'll probably be happier with one of the prettier AMOLED watches.
