Not crazy about the silver finished lighted keyboard; better contrast with white letters on black keys. I should have ordered it with an additional USB port.

It can be seen that the keyboard was not installed correctly and is defective. Tried for about a week to get support from HP, none can be contacted. Laptop is fine but HP service is way behind other manufacturer.

I bought this laptop for my daughter to use for her school's remote learning program. She needs to be on video call using tools like zoom, hangouts on the laptop. The laptop is brand new and less than 3 weeks old. The microphone does not work consistently. When video calls are initiated, sometimes the mic doesn't work from the get go. sometimes the mic quits working after sometime. This is causing serious issues with her ability to learn effectively. I would not recommend this laptop to anyone. Some point in time, people will use mic. Because of this I'm knocking off and giving it a one star. Mic is such a basic hardware that has been around for a long time. There should not be any such issues for products coming out of reputed company HP.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
