So far it is the worst product with design defect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is no product spec. listed on laptop or on wrapping box. We ordered more than 1 products in 1 order, but it was shipped all separately and half of them without shipping notice. It is not possible to separate which one is for which without have to open it.
The product have sharp edge. It is the first product in the past three years, where the laptop frame can make damage to doors and table when in contact with them. All other laptops we had, including previous HP, dell and Lenovo, does not have this issue. So far, if you (or your kids) carry the laptop by hand and walk at home where accidentally hit the door. Then congratulations that you win the price to damage the door paint. This has occurred 3 times in one month.
This is just a design issue. As most laptops currently in the market have smooth edge (at least for the 30 laptops I used in the past 5 years). The company may claim it is not laptop issue, but the user issue. However, for laptop, the difference as compare to desktop is easy to carry. If the design change make it hard to move around, it defeat the purpose. The problem is that past product from HP and other companies all does not have this issue. Thus make it standing out as a defective product by design.
Other component seems ok and works ok. I do see touch screen is very sensitive. When using external monitor only, the touch screen should not response. Not sure how to turn it off. Sometime we see ghost finger on touch screen, i.e. like someone keep touch one location of the screen continuously. We have to restart the laptop. But this may or may not be the hardware issue.
I cannot recommend this product to friend until this issue has been solved.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Kevin,

Thank you very much for your review, and sorry to hear about the issues you encountered. We are always grateful for any feedback received regarding our products and user experience and can assure you that reviews like yours allow us to adjust our future product designs to better serve the needs of our customers.

We build our devices with the intention of providing a reliable experience for our customers, and I can imagine how upsetting it must be to feel so disappointed in a larger purchase this like one.

Regarding the touchscreen problem you mentioned, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including Display and Touchscreen issues. You can find that site here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics?category=computing

If any problem persists, please reach out to us so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. On the diagnostic tools page, you’ll find a link to Support Home (our main support page) as well as links to contact support and chat with a virtual agent.

I will also mention that HP products have a warranty from their purchase date, so you might make use of it if you need to. To verify the warranty, look for an icon on our support site labelled “Check Warranty Status.”
