I’ve been using the Zwilling Gourmet 14-piece set for a while now, and it’s easily one of the most practical kitchen upgrades I’ve made. If you want high-end German steel without the heavy, clunky weight of traditional forged cutlery, this set hits the exact sweet spot. The blades are made from high-carbon stainless steel using Zwilling’s ice-hardening process, meaning they arrive razor-sharp right out of the box and hold an edge exceptionally well. Because they’re stamped rather than forged, the entire set feels light and nimble in your hand. Trimming proteins, chopping herbs, or powering through tough root vegetables feels smooth and agile, with none of the wrist fatigue that usually comes with longer prep sessions.
This new set of knives is built well, feels great in your hand and very sharp. Replacing a 21 year-old set of Henkel knives we received as a wedding gift.
The knives are nice and a good size. Everything looks good overall, but one knife was missing. The spaces for holding the knives are also a little larger than the knives, so they don’t fit as snugly as I expected. Still, pretty happy with them overall
