Great for a small retail store client host

Plenty of capacity for a MAC Mini host (Lion), with a barcode scanner, and credit card terminal. All transactions are updated in real time to the server, which runs Acclivity's Account Edge NE accounting software. Both the server and the network equipment are protected by separate Tripp-Lite UPS products. The entire network runs gigabit ethernet, and is almost PCI compliant. Only the credit card terminal needs to be updated to achieve full PCI compliance.

Reliable, but with a few quirks

Most importantly, this UPS gave me four years of flawless uninterrupted power, which in my experience, is pretty good. All past ones have given up sooner than that and/or stopped holding any significant charge. This UPS never kept my computer running all that long, but it always at least gave me time to finish, save, and properly shutdown, which is what matters most. However, when I say it gave me four years, I mean it no longer works; it finally failed its first and last time after almost exactly four years of solid service. And when it did die, it did it mid-session, and not during a power outage, so it does have exactly one failure. I don't expect a UPS to last forever, but simply not supplying power in the first place would have been much better. Avoiding unexpected power loss is the whole point. Otherwise it has great features and my only complaint was the loud beep it makes when the power goes out, regardless of whether the PC it's connected to is on. It totally makes sense to warn the user of power loss when the PC is on, not so much when nothing is on in the first place. And if you have your PC in your bedroom like I do, it makes nighttime power outages pretty annoying. Still, problems aside, I'll likely get another, it remains the best UPS I've bought so far.

It just sits in our rack and does what it is supposed to. No false alarms. Power output checked w/ Fluke DVM is good. Shuts down equipment when we lose power. Have done nothing to it in 3 yrs. 24/7 use.

This unit is protecting a small HP Server with ease. 12gb Ram, single CPU dual Nic, 4x spindle HDDs. I love the fact it has no fan and is designed to cool the unit using only the built in heatsink and you can use all 8 outlets for UPS compared to others that are 4 and 4. My one dislike is the requirement to run java on the host. If you can get over that small detail, then why don't you have one yet!

While I enjoy the product received, I have had some issues with batteries needing to be power cycled. I don't think this is the fault of the manufacturer, but I had some stellar customer service from the help desk when I needed to inquire on the nature and solution.
