Comfortable but leather cover cracks soon

I bought this chair (factory label says Aug 2018) and really liked it. It is comfortable and sturdy. However within 2 years of not-so-heavy use at my home the cover on the seat and armrest started to crack/break. I have been covering the chair with sheets hide the ugly sight. it still works for me but I wised there would be more durable faux leather for the price I paid.
