Very simple to put together the seat padding could be thicker not the most comfortable. I had to go get a seat cushion to add to padding. This will suffice for now.
I wanted to be able to test out the chairs and this one was in the store. It's the perfect size for me and VERY comfortable seat and all around. The store assembled it for me for only $15.00 and it fits in my Corolla back seat. Wheels are smooth arms adjust easily.
It took me 29 minutes to put together. I thought the directions were good. One good thing about the chair not contained in the description is that the arm rest width is actually adjustable using tools. Obviously not as convenient as tool-free adjustment but better than no adjustment at all in my opinion. Bad things not contained in the description: (1) The foam used in the seat is lower density than I usually see in chairs. I bottom out the foam and can feel the plywood surface beneath when I sit (I weight ~180 lbs). It's not that uncomfortable but definitely not ideal. (2) The tilt lock can only lock the chair into the full upright position not any arbitrary level of recline. My unit also had a manufacturing defect. The holes on the seat to which the back and arm rests are attached were drilled slightly off center resulting in off center back and arm rests once attached. It looks a little funny if you examine it closely but I didn't think it affected usability much. I doubt all units are like this but it wasn't a big enough issue for me to bother with disassembling the chair returning it and reassembling a new one.
