I finally learned how traditional US furniture sits low (probably some jerk cost saving). Nonetheless this chair does not sit low. You stand up with minimal knee pain. You sit back and actually can rest your head. I recommend a small lumbar for your back to manage long bouts of sitting tho like a down pillow and something to elevate your feet like a simple milk crate.
