I am super satisfied with the Hyken! For a few weeks I was on the search for a good chair under the $200 range. Before buying the Hyken I tried the Marrett & Dexley chair as well as a few other ones in-person at the Staples store (Osgood Kroy Union & Scale Essentials chair etc.) For info I am 5'6" 155 lbs female with a longer torso/shorter legs. **Pro tip: Make sure to go to a Staples store and sitting on a few chairs before buying. You will save a lot of time and money.** After purchasing the Marrett chair from Quill sitting on it for a week and returning it I found out what are the important features (for me) in buying a chair. Then I bought the Hyken on a whim as a gift and realized that it met all of my requirements + more Hyken vs Marret vs Dexley 1. Breathable & comfortable seat (I will be sitting on it for a long time) -Marret: Fabric seat got hot after sitting on it for a while -Hyken: Breathable mesh fabric for the back and seat (awesome!) -Dexley: Also mesh material 2. Seat that isn't too wide (so that my arms can be closer to my sides) AND Seat that isn't too deep (so that I am not forced to sit on the edge of my seat without back support) -Marret: Seat depth (19.3") Seat width (17.7") - Seat too deep -Hyken: Seat depth (16.5") Seat width (19.3") - Just right! (although adjustable seat width would be great) -Dexley: Seat depth (28.3") Seat width (18.3") - Seat too wide 3. Seat that doesn't make me feel like I'm leaning forward -Marret & Dexley: Felt like I was sliding out of my seat -Hyken: Sitting was suuper comfortable not sure why - maybe the way the seat is curved and the seat dimensions? 4 Bonus: Recline -Marret: Hard to recline -Hyken: Super easy recline if I lean back I could totally take a nap in this chair -Dexley: No recline As you can tell I love the Hyken chair! Also it helps that I was able to get it price matched from Quill.com so I paid $189.99 plus a $10 off coupon. So my purchase with tax was under $210! Also I've seen this chair go on sale a few weeks ago for $189.99 so I'm sure the sale will come around again. I'd highly recommend this chair to anyone! But before you purchase--make sure you go into a Staples store and try it! Another chair might be a better fit for you.
I think it's more comfortable than my son's gaming chair. The mesh keeps me from getting too sweaty from sitting for long periods and it's easy enough to relax into without feeling like I'm going to turn into a useless blob. The lever for adjusting the back angle is a little wonky but otherwise it's great.
Hard to beat value - comfortable with good functionality and very practical design modern looking yet not intrusive or pompous... really happy so far. Easy to install too.
