I experienced a pretty severe tailbone injury in my late 20s. I am now in my mid 40s and it pretty much hurts to sit for long periods of time. I can sit in this chair all day without it making my tailbone sore. I am quite short (barely 5'1") and the chair is just right for me. If you are tall the curved areas of the back may not hit you in the right places. If you are tall try it out in the store before you commit to buying it.
