Up until now I've made the mistake of buying big soft home office chairs (I write for a living) and in a year or so they always flatten and leave me with awkward back support as well. With this chair I went back to basics and bought a small firm chair with comfortable yet firm mesh back support. It's been like day and night. The seat pad keeps its shape and the back support is great; the mesh means I even feel my home's AC on my back during hot days. No more big foamy soft office chairs for me; it's back to basics.
