I bought the chair to help alleviate back pain. The chair was on sale for a fantastic price and the sales team was awesome at helping me select the chair and carry it to my car. Very happy with my purchase!
I sit on the computer all day long but my commercial-grade chair has broken in a number of places. I studied everything I could online including the reviews for all the chairs on this site. The Rutherford was well rated and when I went to the store it was also the most comfortable of the bunch. But -- it's not leather! I could not believe that there are no more leather or quality fabric (not "microfiber") chairs offered at Staples or anywhere else (for a reasonable price). At best you see "bonded leather " which of course is not leather at all but rather leather pellets set in glue. Still I took a chance on Rutherford. After assembling the chair and sitting on it for a few hours I realized this was a mistake. The cushion compressed easily the lumbar support was poor and the arms would not go down to a comfortable level. The plastic required something to be put on top of it unless you want to be glued to the chair. Yuk. Somebody else in the family wanted to try it on and that's the only reason the chair has not been returned. I still sit on my old decrepit chair -- way better.
The chair is affordable and comfortable. However during assembly I found that the bolts that hold the back to the rest of the chair never tighten. This could be a problem one of these days.
