Nicely padded but as others mentioned it feels like you are sitting angled forward and you have to constantly brace yourself to sit upright. I was hoping it was just the great padding but it is not. After 8 days it is the same. Extremely uncomfortable having to sit that way and is killing my back. Glad I did not give away my old chair. It was also the most difficult and time consuming chair I ever put together. I was hoping it was worth the fight of putting it together but it is NOT. Definitely returning. Staples closed all stores within 100 mile radius otherwise I would have looked in the stores first.

I only give this chair 2 stars because it's uncomfortable to me. There's not as much back support as I hoped there would be. It looks nicer than it feels.

Very easy to assemble. Whats weird is my cats DONT scratch it either. I replaced my old chair because it was shredded. This one has not been scratched once.
