Not bad - actually great for the price

Really like this grill. Of course it's not stainless stell and it will rost, if you leave it out in the rain, but the quality actually is not bad. Just the hinges are a bit a pain and very minor quality. I just cut them off and now it's better. The grill is too large to fit into a backpack, but great as an alternative if you drive to a location where you don't know if there are enough fireplaces. Grilling grates are very good quality and there's a lot of space on them.

Love my little Notebook Grill

I'd had a similar product a few years ago, although of lesser-quality steel. I'm so thrilled to have this model back in my life. I live in a small space and don't really want a larger grill, so this suits me just fine. It is very convenient to set up and clean up and store away after using. I love that it burns so well and so long. When I fire it up, I try to have several meals worth of things to cook to take best advantage of the coals.
Since it is sometimes nice to have an enclosed top for a grill, I've found that a quite useful lid can be fashioned from an aluminum roaster pan, a couple of fender washers and an old knob laying around the shop. Only problem is that the lid doesn't pack away as compactly as the grill!

Portable Grill

Purchase
Compact grill that fits nicely in my Jeep JKU. The grill is inexpensive but does have a flaw that is easy to fix. When the grill is expended it opens up too far. To remedy the problem, which was mentioned by other reviews I just drilled a hole in the metal and attached wingnuts for easy removal and storage. Several pictures have been attached to show how you can make the easy fix too.
I plan on using this grill on the river, it will be sitting on rocks, sand, and gravel. My cousins have used the same grill and it gets the job done

Well Designed and Built

The Notebook Grill is perfect for those occasions when you don't need to prepare a ton of food, perhaps just a few items for one or two people. The unit and all its components appear to be well constructed and made of heavy gauge materials. And the design that folds up to about the size of a laptop computer (one with a big screen) is brilliant. It takes up almost zero storage space. It slips easily into any skinny space, much like a book on a library shelf. I don't know how well it will hold up over time, but my initial impressions are all very positive.

Bought this for a cross-country camping trip. We have a small car so this fold-up design is perfect!

easy to store and convenient to take anywhere

I have not grilled on this yet but pretty sure it will do just fine. Looks like any other charcoal grill so I don't forsee any issue on that end. I love the convenience of the compact and easy to store feature. Its simple to fold out, looks like excellent quality and the convenience is going to be perfect. It would be perfect for a college student (honestly does not take up any room), camping for a few people (which kids and I do every year), less room and easier then camping stove with the little propane tanks, and I plan on purchasing more for Christmas gifts. I am really excited to use this and with the size and fold up option, I can take and use it anywhere without taking up much space at all. Infact, the coals will take up more space then anything.
