Great Fryer

This is based after first use. I washed it up and put oil up to the line inside. Cut up pork chops into cubes, dipped in egg white and corn starch and dipped into seasoned crumb mix. Let sit for 10 min.
Put about 3 cups of the dry ribs in the fryer and it did its job. They were crunchy and perfect in every way. It had enough wattage to keep the heat up.
I bought this for my cottage for doing English fish and chips but I think this will be my multi purpose fryer.

Mine kept losing temp. It got to the point it would only get up to about 320, so I threw it away and got a Cuisinart. Love my C!!! Hated this Presto POCrap....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We just purchased the Gran pappy and we made frenchfries yesterday and used the peanut oil as suggested. Were the best fries ever. I had a deep fryer, old, square one, took up so much space. This fries the same amount of food and takes up very little room. If you love deep fried foods, do your self a favor and get this one. You will be so happy you did.

So easy to use, great for quick frying chicken breasts/wings/strips, chicken livers, and any small items like shrimp, scallops, any potatoes/fries/tots. This fryer has one setting-hot. But that's all you need unless you plan to fry something very thick. So, pre-cook the thick stuff, then fry it. The fryer is very well made, solid, has a handle for picking up. Use canola oil, not olive oil which requires less heat. Comes up to frying temp very fast. Has a small footprint, which is why I got it, very easy to use on a table top while doing other stuff. I use a slotted wire scoop with it. There is an after market basket for it online. You can store the used oil in it but I use a container for that and store oil in the fridge. When cool I just spray with cleaner, and wash in the sink, let dry, then put the cord in and put cover on. Stores away anywhere on the counter or in a cabinet. I fried 8 wings in a half hour, clean up a few minutes, after cooling. Couldn't be happier. Warning- fryer is HOT to touch so don't try to move it or pick it up without the handle or you could burn your fingers.

I bought the Fry Baby when it came out, then the Fry Daddy, then the Fry Grandpappy and now on my third Grandpappy. i love them. We use it several times a week and wear them out. i now buy a spare, for just in case. I am scared they will quit making them.

We love our deep fryers. Doubt they will be discontinued, at least anytime soon.. they are well loved by many!
