Hauslane WM-590 ranghood

The range hood was easy to install. However, the instructions were clear about min. distance from range top (gas = 30") but the instruction do not include an overall min or max height of range hood with chimney top/bottom pieces installed. I have an 8' kitchen ceiling. After pre-drilling the installation mounting holes per instructions, I discovered that I did not have the clearance to install the chimney top/bottom pieces. To achieve the necessary clearance, I had to lower the range hood by 3/4" (drilled new holes). FYI - The minimum overall height of the range hood w/ top/bottom pieces installed is 29 1/2".

This was one of the best additions to the kitchen remodel. It's a beauty & it draws a lot of air. Some comment on the noise but I expected it when you realize how much air it's moving. Our kitchen is small & gets hot sometimes with the oven in use. I'll turn it on low & you can instantly feel the temp change. Light over the range is great. Our kitchen is so much cleaner now.

Have had this fan for about 9 months and it certainly is a dependable product and stylish. This vent does exactly what I expected and was a reasonably priced unit. Love it.

The hood itself is very well built and works well. The extension for a 10ft ceiling is not ideal. Installation is very tricky to reach the top mounting chimney bracket (at 10 ft) and we found that at the average range height spacing of 30 inches max will not extend to the 10 ft ceiling, we had to go 31.5 inches in order for the extension to not max out while telescoping. Also, having to combine the main chute with the extension, seem impossible not to scatch each other. I have to now order another extension as it's scratched and dented as well.

The fan is beautiful. I ordered it in black stainless steel and everyone comments on how sharp it looks. The 3 different fan levels work great. No smells in the kitchen and it's very quiet on the lowest setting. The grates are easy to remove and clean. And I use the light on the fan every day. It makes it much easier to cook with the light. I couldn't be happier.
