Neat looking but...

The carafe capacity (10 cups) is mainly why I liked this. I also liked the colour -- nice change from all the black and steel coffeemakers. Unfortunately, I found one design aspect problematic. It was awkward using the carafe to pour water into the reservoir. One can't totally empty the carafe because it hits the reservoir lid. Though not a major issue, I thought that over time I'd get really tired of this minor annoyance so I decided to just return the coffeemaker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the look of this coffee maker, but there are some design flaws that could be addressed especially when you consider the price of the unit!
- A 12 cup version would be very welcome.
- it’s best to use a pitcher to fill the reservoir, if you use the carafe, it’s almost impossible to get all the water into the tank as the design prevents that from happening.
- we like hot coffee and this just does NOT make it hot enough, the hot plate doesn’t keep the coffee very hot and it shuts off after an hour. Most other coffee makers we have had stay on for double that time.

So far, so good. A few design flaws

This obviously looks great and is working well so far (a few weeks in). My only complaint is that the design is poor - the top lid does not open wide enough to allow you to fully empty the carafe into the water tank. Quite annoying for such a premium product!
I would recommend this to a friend!
