I thought the total gym fit, might be worth investing in. Now I know it's worth the investment. Being a former football player and body builder in youth . I am 100% amazed at what the Total Gym Fit can do and I am looking forward to my reclaiming as much of my athletic body that I can at age 63 with the help of this fantastic piece of workout equipment.

I bought my first Total Gym in 1986. I used it until 2020. It was so old and very used I had to throw it away and buy a new one. Of all the weight lifting, cardio, and workout equipment I own this has always been my favorite.

I'm 58, 355 lbs, ... I've been using the Total Gym FIT Signature Plus for about a month now. Of all of the home exercise equipment I've used, this is the best.
All in all, it's easy to set up and use. Everything is smooth and feels well built. Even with my considerable weight, the equipment is sturdy.
As advertised, there are quite a few ways to do both strength and cardio training. You can target specific muscle groups or do compound exercises.
Since I break it down and set it up everytime I work out, I've learned techniques that make it easy. However, the first couple of times I had some difficulty. There was a learning curve in the best methods of getting out and putting it away.
One thing I don't like is that the bed can jump the rails when getting on or off. Not a big deal, but it happens. All you have to do is lift it back into position.
The other challenge I have is the length of the bed. I'm 6' 1" tall, and if I get too far to one end when lying down, I can't get my feet in position. If I can get my feet onto the bed when lying down, then my head isn't supported. So for me, the bed could be longer and maybe a few more inches of travel. However, with that said, now that I'm used to getting the position right, I don't have a problem with it. Just took some time to figure it out for my body size.
I would definitely recommend the Total Gym!

I'm 63 years old and have wanted a Total Gym for a long time. I have back and hip pain that makes exercising on my feet, for any length of time, a challenge. I thought the Total Gym was an ideal option and it is. It provides a great workout without stress on my joints.
I've only had the Total Gym for a month. The first couple of times I used it, I was a little intimidated by it. The last thing I needed was to get hurt. I watched several videos to see how people safely used it and adopted their practices. Now, I feel confident when I'm using it. I do plan to get a chair or something sturdy next to the Total Gym, to help support me when I need to change positions.
Even though my hair is short, I managed to get a little of it caught on the pulley underneath the glide board. So, I wear a ball cap when working out. So, long or short hair, be aware.
I've discovered, I'm not crazy about the exercise cards that come with the equipment. Flipping through them slows me down and breaks up the momentum. Using them on the tablet holder seems worse. I've not tried using a iPad on the tablet holder yet since I have a TV in the room. I'm not always facing the same direction, so I prefer video instruction because I can hear the instructions and focus on what I'm doing, whether facing the TV or not. I've even worked out without any guidance. After a while, you know what exercises to do and how to do them correctly.
Probably the best thing about the Total Gym is that it's fun. I prefer working out when I get home from work, before dinner. I have the Total Gym in my garage workshop area sitting on horse stall mats (which are awesome). I have a garage heater so I can workout all year 'round.
I'm giving it a 4-star rating because of how you access workouts is a little clunky and could be improved. Sending CD's of workouts is outdated. Not many people have CD players anymore. I like the concept of Total Gym TV, but difficult to use it from my smart TV. Using the remote control to move around the screen is agonizingly slow and frustrating. Plus, it doesn't seem like there are very many beginner workouts. In all fairness, I need to delve into this a little more to see if I can make this a better experience. As I mentioned above, I get the reason they created the cards and poster, but they don't do a lot for me. As far as the quality of the product, I have no issues, but I do have a suggestion. Drill holes in the tower for the Height-Level Safety C-Pin for the lower levels. If not just for safety, but for keeping the pin 'stored' on the machine making it less likely to come up missing.
I highly recommend this product and, so far, I'm glad I made this investment in myself.

I purchased the total gym fit 3 weeks ago. I could see and feel a difference within a couple of days. I had been going to the gym and getting frustrated with my slow progress. With the total gym I am free to work out whenever I want and do not have to go out in the weather or have to wait for a machine. I have to modify my upper body workout due to five shoulder surgeries but can see a huge difference in them on just 3 weeks. I have dropped several inches and can feel a difference in all areas especially my core and abs. I would recommend it to anyone.

I bought the Total Gym Fit a couple years ago. I am 72 yers young. Former Marine. I use the gym on Mon. Wed. and Fri. It makes me feel so much better, and stronger. I highly recommend the Fit from Total Gym.
