Old versus New: FIT rates 3 stars

I purchased the Total Gym FIT to replace my 12+ year old Total Gym 11000, which is still in perfect condition, but a bit cumbersome as I approach my 60th birthday. I wanted something a bit easier to fold & store.
I received my new Total Gym FIT, go it set-up, and IMMEDIATELY realized I greatly preferred my older, more sturdy, easier to use Total Gym 11000.
Yes, the FIT is more streamlined. Yes, I love the included ab crunches accessory. Yes, I enjoy the new style handles.
No, FIT is not as solid and unshakable as my 11000 model. No, the FIT foot board is quite flimsy in comparison to the amazingly sturdy 11000 foot boards. No, the FIT glide board does not have the same durable fiber reinforced plastic material my 11000 has. No, the FIT DOES not have the easy "drop-in" accessory slots that make accessory changes a quick easy "snap" on the 11000.
In lieu of returning the FIT (a near impossible repacking task) - I decided to compromise. I use my cherished 11000 model for all my lower body exercises and I use the FIT for abs and upper body.
I use my (also cherished ) Total Gym cycle on the sturdier 11000.
In conclusion, the FIT is a wonderful piece of equipment and had I not previously owned the 11000, the FIT would have received FIVE stars. But that not being the case - I honestly can only rate it three stars.
I do promise you will not be disappointed with your purchase.
I had planned to giveaway my 11000, but I am now convinced it is worth the floor space in my tiny home to keep both. Total Gym has made me a loyal customer with their well designed products.

Love my new total gym! I'm a physical therapist and have used total gym in the clinic for years. I've wanted one for personal use at home for years and the price on this new model was right. It's Light weight, easy to set up, good to go. My only complaint and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the foot board is a little on the small side. OK for me but not for my husband whose 6'5". A rectangular rather than oval shape would probably help. Also wish the Pilates toe bar/footwork bar would work with this model. My fault I didn't look that up prior to purchase. Thought I would add it on later. Otherwise, great versatile piece of equipment and highly recommend!

Never too old to build muscle!!

Bought my TG Fit about 2 months ago and now wish I had first getting one years ago. If I had I would nit have 20 exercise tapes, 10 different items to workout, and a floor full of hand weights. I'm 65 and have workout off and on for years so I know about how fast I can get in shape, well the TG totally surprised me; within a week (3 workouts) I could see and feel the different. I have a 22" thick mattress which was difficult for me to change the sheets by myself, having to left the corners with one hand and tuck with the other; the TG made a huge different, now I can lift the corner to shoulder height if I want. TG is now my main workout, with a little walk I don't need anything else.
I only have one dig -- videos are not aimed at the TG Fit so when they call out a level and show the XLS (8 lvld?), Im not sure what level is equal to the TG Fit (12 lvld).

I am so pleased to have purchased the total gym because I have difficulty exercising with my health problems which include diabetes; cushings, kidney failure,and hypothyroidism. The total gym allows me to exercise and get my body moving in order to loosen my joints, it also helps with my blood flow. The total gym helps with my diabetic nerve pain as well because it allows me to exercise without damaging my muscle by misuse of the equipment. The total gym is easy to use and allows the user to workout in the privacy of their own home. My health issues make my exercise regimen slower than most, so I feel comfortable and safe using the total gym at my own pace at my own schedule, depending on my daily health issues. Thank you for the total gym and I hope to continue improving muscle use and blood flow through the use of the total gym.

A most verstile piece of equipment, great for most people just trying to stay fit or even body build a little. Solid and we'll built. Best of all, convenient. Just hop on for 45 minutes and hop off. So many resources available to teach you new exercises. The list is endless.

Love it but lacking attachments for the price

Just got the Total Gym Fit last week and it was very easy to set up and use. My con is that comes with less attachments (no dib bars and no shoulder press bars) than the lesser priced XLS I bought about five years ago. Attachments are pricey too.
