[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Serious blade for larger tasks. Stays sharp. Good balance. Not too much steel in the blade making it able to be wielded somewhat easily for such a large knife
You like longer than 8" chefs knife, this is one to hold. The Zwilling proprietary no-stain/chip steel is second-to-none. The balance for such a big knife is unbelievable and the handle is tough as nails.
The ultimate verdict on how you like a knife is it's place in the kitchen block and how often is used. Well, I use it a LOT! I have various knives in my collection, but always seem to grab these classic triple riveted traditional Zwillings. They seem to be better balanced. My hand feels protected form the cutting. They also sharpen very well. I have also noticed that they hold up their value very consistently, sometimes even increasing. It is one of my favorite knives, without doubt.
I love the feeling of strength with this knife. I feel like it could handle any kitchen task I need, it feels great in your hand and cuts even the hardest items like butter. It has become my go to kitchen knife! My mom has the same one and got it for her wedding set over 40 years ago, still cuts perfectly!
If a 7 or 8" Chef knife doesn't seem to do the job, then this 10" will! With a longer blade, some jobs or larger hands need this knife! Super sharp from the ice-hardening process and will remain sharp and durable for many years.
Pro "S" has that classic German look with the three rivets. My Grandparents have had Pro S since the 60's and they still work as good as the day they purchased them
