[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The SSD improved gaming and overall performance. While playing I no longer experienced lagging or annoying delays. I saw improvements in graphics too. The install was easy for me to complete for I am a Novice when it comes to computing. The SSD is secured by a simple screw in its slot. I didn't have any trouble with my machine detecting the Kingston FURY Renegade SSD.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation is easy with a secure fit into a PCIe 4.0 NVMe socket with screw down. Having switched my laptop from another SSD to the Kingston Fury, the Kingston significantly reduced load times for both the operating system on start up and while gaming. It feels like I can finally use the full bandwidth of my 1gbps internet connection with the SSD no longer limiting the download speed of games and movies.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I swapped out my aging WD Blue SN550 in my gaming rig with this new Kingston FURY Renegade SSD and I am just blow away by how much faster it is! I've been using NVMe drives for a few years now and they're already so much faster than older SATA SSDs, so I didn't expect much of a difference going from the Blue to the FURY Renegade, but boy was I wrong! Everything on my machine is faster: Booting, Launching Apps, Level Load Times, you name it. I did a quick benchmark and got nearly the spec'd 7000 MB/s sequential read, which is like 3x what I saw on my old drive. I've not had a chance to test random read/write just yet, but the spec sheet quotes nearly 1,000,000 IOPs! Just make sure that your motherboard is new enough to support PCIe 4.0 and that you've got enough free PCIe lanes (4) to get the full benefit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This SSD is a phenomenal improvement for my PC. This is my first Kingston product and I am thoroughly impressed. Very easy to swap out SSD. Took maybe 5-10 minutes to take the cover off of my PC and swap the drives. Performance increases from the factory SSD are substantial! Will definitely be using more Kingston products!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to convert my old laptop into a gaming computer. It makes it run 100x faster & easily keeps up with gaming. No crashing or pixelated features. It’s a game changer, literally. Easy to install & ramp up your experience! My oldest son uses my laptop a lot for extra games and the fury makes that possible to download many games & load/save without crashing your computers due to high volumes of downloads.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very high quality SSD from Kingston and I was highly impressed by the packaging straight from the beginning. It is clean, crisp, and modern. I saw my computer start performing double what it was doing once I installed this and began playing my gaming routine. It did not bog down my computer and it is designed to fit any color scheme or set up if yours makes it visible. I highly recommend for this price point to choose the Fury Renegade.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kingston FURY Renegade PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD is a top tier and good upgrade to any setup. I thought I had no need for more speed until I found out what real speed can be like. This SSD is definitely fast with up to 7,300MB/s read and 7,000MB/s write and 1,000,000 IOPS . It is 12 times faster than my previous SSD that used the SATA interface and is a noticeable upgrade to my laptop. I have never used a SSD that uses NVME and was eager to try it out with the FURY Renegade to see how different the technology is. I am not sure how much difference the low profile graphene aluminum heat spreader really makes to keep it cool but so far I haven’t experienced any noticeable heating issues. I have only used it in the cooler moderate temperature but perhaps I will see a difference in the warmer summer months when overheating does become more of an issue. This is a nice benefit though as I have a thin laptop and I do worry about overheating with the decreased air space and flow.
It was easy to install with just one screw after sliding one edge into the M.2 PCle slot at an angle. The tricky part was making sure not to drop the screw into the laptop. It was a little scary making sure I didn’t touch anything unnecessarily or press down too hard but it was very simple and not difficult. It just requires being careful.
The SSD is packaged inside a plastic blister pack that is sandwiched between two pieces of cardboard glued together. I appreciate that it is relatively environmental packaging with minimal plastic but it is not frustration free. You have to cut open the cardboard and it was hard to figure out the right place to cut it. The blister pack is not sealed or attached. The SSD fell out of the plastic shell as soon as cardboard was cut open. Luckily it was not damaged but I would suggest extreme caution when opening.
The SSD does come with Acronis cloning software if you do not have your own software to transfer your data from your old drive. The activation key is printed inside the front portion of cardboard right above the plastic holding the SSD, so be very careful when you open the packaging. I luckily cut right below the activation key. I would suggest cutting the back piece of cardboard to avoid accidentally cutting through the activation key.
After installing the Fury Renegade, programs opened and ran a lot faster. Photo and video editing was smoother. Gaming was more enjoyable with less lag time. It was a fast and easy way to upgrade my computer. Such a high level advanced upgrade was not necessary for my set-up but I like that I can also use it in a PS5 and future laptops without being dated for many years. Overall, the Fury Renegade SSD is one of the most advanced and fast SSDs on the market and did not disappoint.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, it hits all my expectations - coming from another vendor's offerings, the running temperature is consistently below their lineup, which is awesome.
Real world on this, I do see 7GB reading and 6GB write speeds, and TBW is also in the "Really? Thats awesome!" category.
In all, I'm a now a fan, long term use will tell the ultimate tale, but I/O and temperature levels all have me smiling on this one.
