This is my first experience with a portable SSD and I have no complaints! It’s very travel friendly and can hold a lot of data (I received the 500gb option but I know there are 1-2TB as well!). Very user-friendly and a great product for the price point. I’d definitely recommend!

I had a Kingston Bolt, which became obsolete with updates to operating systems. I loved that little gadget and hoped that this product would be as good or better. Alas, I find it much harder to use, particularly because - unlike the Bolt - there is no App to use on my phone. I realize it has a LOT more storage capacity, but it is not as good for simply getting files off my phone and into my computers.

I was concerned from some of the reviews I read, after ordering, that it may not have a USB C 3 connection, but it does. I got close to the rated speed when tested with Black Magic Speed test and a high speed USB C cable (“thunderbolt 4” - so confusing, I know). I never tested the speed with the included short cable. However, during the process of creating a new ~350GB Time Machine backup to it, it seemed to slow down, which certain types of SSD memory cells are known to do. (Not positive that it wasn’t T.M.’s fault though.) Took ~30+ minutes. 2nd backup was much shorter and didn’t slow down as a result.
I would recommend this to a friend!
