Terrible filter design

It makes fine coffee but the wraparound filters just plain stupid, They are awkward and a PITA to use. Every other percolator I have ever used uses either no filter or the simple round filters. If you use a round filter you get sludge. I've kept it too long to return it so I'm either going to donate it or put it in a garage sale.

We're glad you like the coffee! Try adding another round (disc) filter over the top of the grounds to help prevent them going into the coffee. We feel the wraparound filters work best to contain the grounds but discs are helpful as well.
I bought this percolator 1 month ago and it’s very unstable for the coffe quality. Often too clear. Put more coffee and stay too pale.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Weak coffee can be caused by the perk tube not seated properly in the perk well. It can also be caused by a build-up of oils and grounds in the percolator. Wash and rinse the inside of your coffee maker, cover and basket assembly with warm, soapy water after each use. The perk tube, including the washer (which needs to spin freely), and spout can be cleaned with a brush. CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock and damage to your coffee maker, do not immerse the coffee maker in water or other liquid or allow the plug receptacle or base to get wet. Wipe the outside surface with a damp cloth and thoroughly drop with a towel. It is IMPORTANT to keep the plug receptacle area dry. If you notice any moisture, dry thoroughly before use.
To keep your coffee maker functioning properly, periodically remove oil, stains, and any sediment from the inside of the coffee maker. To clean, add water up to the 6-cup mark. Then prepare the coffee maker as you would for making a full pot of coffee, expect add 2 tablespoons of dry automatic dishwashing detergent to the basket in place of the coffee and do not use a disposable filter. Once the signal light illuminates, allow the coffee maker to remain plugged in for 15 to 20 minutes. Unplug the coffee maker, pour out the cleaning solution and then rinse the inside of the coffee maker and the parts with running water. Fill the coffee maker with fresh water up to the 6 mark and perk again. Pour out the water and thoroughly rinse the inside of the coffee maker and the parts. Depending on the severity of the staining, it may be necessary to repeat this cleaning procedure. If, after you have tried this cleaning solution, you are still getting weak coffee, please contact our Customer Service Department by phone 1-800-877-0441. We are available Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Central Time.
Don’t waste your money. Worked about 2 weeks. Will not brew 6 cups of coffee, only brown water. Sometimes can get 4 cups of coffee. Yes, I use correct ratio, even more to get coffee I can taste. And, yes all is seated properly. Now I’m shopping for a better coffee pot.

Excellent little coffee maker! Nice taste and fast! Love it. My mom has used Presto since I was a little one and they are always the coffee workhorses in our family.
Makes great coffee...percolating really brings out the flavor of the coffee. The fill line indicator is highly visible. The enclosed brochure even told me how to remove the lid easily. (percolator has a tight fitting lid). Light comes on when brewing is complete and stays on till you unplug the pot. I have weak hands and the handle on this pot makes it easy for me to pour and keep control. Like everything about this coffee pot and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
