This is a great option for someone who wants a true German knife that is lighter weight with no maintenance. These knives are made from high quality steel and are stamped to provide a lighter knife.

If you are not the type to take care of your edges by regular honing and sharpening, then this set will keep you cutting much longer. the self sharpening block takes the work out of owning good knives.

Low Maintenance and easy to use

I am astonished at how great this knife block is! I didn't know how quickly knives dull so but every time I pull a knife out of this block, it sharpens it, so every knife is as sharp as the first time I used them. The Gourmet line is lightweight and agile which makes it easy to maneuver.

The stamped German stainless Gourmet line has been around forever. Great, lightweight steel, classic & tough 3-rivet handle & new, effective self-sharpening block. Worth it!

great for small spaces

I wanted a good set that didnt take up much space. This set has me covered with everything from prep sized knives to a large serrated bread knife. The German made steel blades are high quality. They are well balanced and the handles are comfortable to hold. The self sharpening block doesnt take up much space. Each slot is clearly labeled for each specific knife. The slots are individually engineered to keep each knife at their optimal sharpness.
