A self sharpening block is such a great thing to have. This block will keep the factory edge on your knives for as long as you have them! Every time you draw the blade from the block it passes through the special honing wheels and gives you the perfect cutting edge. The Gourmet knives in this block are made from specially formulated steel so they are corrosion resistant. Because they are stamped not forged they will feel light but they have a full tang of steel running through the handle so they feel sturdy.

A great set of knives with everything you need! The self-sharpening block is such an added plus, as no more honing or sharpening to do! Looks beautiful and sleek on the counter. Also space for 4 steak knives of your own.

I love the self sharpening block! It's so simple; pull out your knife and replace it; your knife is sharp. Everybody needs sharp knives. It is a great design because every slot is labeled so it's easy to see where each knife belongs.
Gourmet knives are made of high carbon German steel in Germany so you know they are sharp and are going to stay that way. Because they are stamped, not forged, they are lighter, flexible and less expensive than their forged "cousin". They have that great three rivet handle that is both comfortable and durable. I love the logo as the second pin in the handle. Guaranteed to last a lifetime

Great essential knife set! The Gourmet line feels solid in your hand. They are well made out of German stainless steel. I love the look of the modern stainless steel with the dark wood block. Super low edge maintenance with this self-sharpening block.

This self-sharpening block houses a great assortment of knives. Blades are sharpened each time you remove or reinsert them to their designated slot. Storage block has slots for adding 8 steak knives.
