Great Block Set for Beginners!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a beginner, I wanted a knife set that wasn't too expensive or fancy since I am no professional cook but also durable for daily use. This has been the perfect set as it includes the most common knives for everyday cooking without being an extremely pricey option. The self sharpening block has come in handy as well. The block itself is very sturdy, visually appealing in any kitchen setting, and compact.

Finally have sharp knives! Great assortment of German high carbon knives, including two paring knives, a bread knife, a chef's knife and santoku. Each knife has an individual slot that not only stores the knife, but can be used to sharpen the blade just by pulling through several times. What a clever idea, and well executed. The sharpener creates a nice sharp edge, much better than some of the other pull through sharpeners I've used!
