expected way more fps and quality, friends with older cards get pretty much the same

We understand your disappointment with the current FPS and quality. First, ensure all your drivers are fully updated, especially your graphics drivers. Perform a clean installation of these drivers. Also, verify your Windows Power Plan is set to 'High Performance' and that your GPU control panel, NVIDIA Control Panel settings are optimized for maximum performance, not power saving.
