[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sewing machine is small but mighty. It does a great job at sewing and doesn't miss a beat. It's also lightweight and easy to install and use. I love the knob location, it's easy to get to and twist, making sewing a breeze. Great for tough jobs but even better for quick stitch fixes. love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This small and compact sewing machine is perfect for mending or other small jobs. Also great for teaching kids how to sew. Would also be great for dorm room use one for other small spaces or for beginners.

Compact, light and portable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Singer is a proven brand in sewing machines and this one does what it says. Light, portable and compact. Great for light fabrics and mending items. It is not intended for heavy for fabrics. It is basic with great functionality. 32 stitch patterns are available by turning a selection dial. From the moment I took it out of the box, it did not take anytime to have it setup and running. Plug in the power cord and foot pedal, both included thread the bobbins and drop them in, insert the needle and thread it and you are ready to go. The manual is easy to read and there are videos if you are a visual person like me. If you are like me, redipping your toe, looking for something for light jobs, portable, or a beginner looking for quality, this is it!

Great Little Machine

I love that its small, making it very portable and easy to carry. My husband often snags his pants at work (mechanic) and I leave it at work in the office just to fix these.

Wonderful little machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this Singer M1000 Mending Sewing Machine for a little over a week, and I already love it! I am an intermediate sewer, and I have found this little machine to be wonderful for mending or small sewing projects. The start up video is helpful and easy to follow/understand. The machine is easy to thread (even with the guard). It is very lightweight, and I really like its small, compact size. Since I don't have a designated sewing room, this machine can easily be moved and stored. The M1000 will not replace my larger, full-size sewing machine, but I will use it for small, basic projects. It will not sew heavy fabrics and wouldn't be very effective with large projects. Like most Singer products, the sewing quality of this little machine is good. It fits my needs. I've had no problems with straight and zigzag stitching. The extra accessories are nice - extra needles, bobbins, needle threader, etc. The only "negative" that I have found is no on/off switch for the light. That will take some adjustment on my part, but overall, I am pleased with this machine.

Awesome Machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is lightweight and can be moved from the table with one hand. It’s great for small jobs. I make scrunches and this little machine works great. And it’s nice to be able to grab something small when you need to mend shirts or a quick dart in a waist line. I use it all the time and just love.

Great for Small Jobs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine proved itself worthy when I had to mend a costume that ripped before a party. I wouldn’t use it for big jobs. The device was easy to use, but threading was a little difficult. It made for a great on-the-go machine. The portability is also unmatched. Singer is reliable, per usual. A great history of machines.

Light and Portable

It's also a perfect machine for the kids to learn on. They love crafts and making little blankets and things, nothing heavy. So far this sewing machine has proved it's worth. I would recommend it!
