Great for my basic sewing needs!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like to see simple things - curtains, small plushies, blankets, aprons, etc. This machine is a major upgrade to my hand me down! It sews very quickly and accurately compared to my old machine. It has a nice weight, but not too heavy (I have to put it away when not using it). It even has a handle! It comes with all I needed. All in all, it’s simple to use and I get much more accomplished with my new machine. I’m excited to continue my sewing crafts!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my wife to learn how to sew. She has never been good at it but wanted to try. I've sewn a good bit with my hands but never with a machine. It was easy to get it out the box and hooked up. It wasn't that heavy but still has a good weight to it. It runs good but as of now I am still getting the hang of it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Strong piercing power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon opening the box, I was glad to see that there wasn’t a lot to assemble. A needle was already pre-installed and many accessories were found in the storage box inside the machine. Speaking of which, the bonus accessories boasted are actually quite nice. I especially like the combination brush/stitch ripper.
The extension table is a nice feature for bigger projects, so I was happy to start using it. At first, it didn’t seem secure upon attaching. However, it wasn’t until I realized that there were legs underneath that I found the stability for which I was looking. Nothing in the manual directed me to the legs but I later noticed them pictured on the product packaging.
The machine casing is constructed of plastic but is quite heavy and stays in place well during use. It is powerful and can pierce many layers of material without strain but the motor is always noisy no matter the job. This is one of the few pain points I will mention. The next is the bobbin plate which, when released, hits the presser foot. It’s mostly an annoyance, but it’s something that I have to deal with so regularly that it is problematic. Still, I have been very pleased with this machine overall. It switches between application types seamlessly (pardon the pun) and holds up to long hours of use without complaint.
The box claims that this machine has “extra-high” sewing speed. I have used machines with much faster speeds than this one but I feel their claim is appropriate at this price point. It is quite quick.
The foot has a great quick-release feature that makes changing it a breeze. This is something I haven’t seen before on other models. Kudos to Singer for thinking of this one.
I have one last annoyance to mention and that was that the presser foot lifter is not in the best position for right-handed users. I have to reach through the machine at a tight angle to maneuver it.
Overall, this machine is not the prettiest to look at. It looks very utilitarian, much like what you would expect to see at a school. That being said, it is quite a workhorse and very versatile. I would recommend the Singer 64S to any hobbyist who enjoys intermediate sewing.

Heavy duty sewing machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This the perfect sewing machine for beginners such as myself, it’s very heavy so you want to keep it in the box when not in use or on a nice surface. Directions are easy to understand and I like the storage compartment to keep everything tidy.

Amazing sewing machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sewing machine blew away my expectations. I was not trying to do much at first, just fill in some pants with holes, but it can do SO much more. I was able to add buttons to pants, make a small handbag for my wife out of some leftover material we had, and take care of some heavy duty stitching on our boats canvas top. If you're new to sewing and using a sewing machine, I would get something else first. This is more for users who are comfortable with using a machine. However, stay within the Singer brand, they make top notch products in my experience.

First of all I love that it came with a foldable stand which also has measurements on it which makes it easy to measure and sew.it is very easy to use.I will definitely recommend it.
