This OmniBook X Flip 14-inch laptop was purchased to replace an 8 year old HP Spectre 13 inch laptop. I was disappointed that a like model Spectre was no longer offered by HP. The OmniBook appeared to be a similar design. I have been impressed by the quality of the HP laptop over many years of service. Others in my family have purchased other makes which always end up with problems, particularly with the display hinges. The OmniBook X appears to have the same well designed hinges as the 8 year old Spectre, which are still as solid as when it was new.
At this time, I have only had the OmniBook for a couple weeks. It has been relatively easy to move from the Windows 10 Spectre to the new Win 11 OmniBook.
When ordering, the OmniBook features were customized and upgraded; - 1TB drive, - Intel Core Ultra 7 256V, - Intel Wi-Fi 7 / Bluetooth 5.4, - 3K OLED display.
I am so glad that I upgraded the display. It is BEAUTIFUL. The brightness, sharpness, and colors are eye grabbing! The touch screen is very responsive without being overly sensitive (of course sensitivity is adjustable.)
I miss the Spectre offering in that the machine was very nicely styled. It has a distinctly sharp appearance and the 13” size made it very portable and comfortable for use as a tablet. On the other hand, the 14” OmniBook is barely bigger than the Spectre. I appreciate the additional ports the OmniBook X offers. Now I’m looking forward to many years of service. Hoping for the same level of quality that I enjoyed in the past.
I bought this laptop with the main purpose of being a laptop for school. I have the Intel Ultra 7 256V, and it's much more powerful than I expected. It's able to run games like R6 Siege and Sea of Thieves with a stable 100FPS, and it's also able to be hooked up to 2 monitors and play games with slightly lower FPS. The build quality of the laptop itself is extremely poor. The hinge broke within the first week, and if you keep the stylus attached to the laptop it scratches up the side of the laptop very easily.
Overall, I would recommend this laptop, especially for the price, but I am disappointed with the build quality after owning it for only 3 weeks.
Love this computer for many reasons. The keyboard is a great design, color, and size. The 2 in1 design makes working on my lap so easy and comfortable. Watching videos is easy and picture is great. Lighted keyboard is really well done. Works as tablet with ease. So happy with my purchase. Set up was a breeze!
The product and build quality are excellent. However, the only issue is with opening the screen — it requires two hands and feels quite stiff, making it less convenient for quick use.
I purchased this laptop to replace my nearly seven-year-old HP Spectre x360, fully expecting the “latest and greatest” model to outperform it by a wide margin. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case at all.
Even basic tasks feel sluggish, which has been incredibly frustrating. I primarily use Adobe Illustrator for graphic design, and my files are typically under 20 MB. Despite that, the system constantly lags and struggles to keep up.
Overall, the performance has been very disappointing. If returning it were an option, I would do so without hesitation.
My old was the Intel Core i7-8565U (1.8 GHz, up to 4 GHz, 8 MB cache, 4 cores)+Intel UHD Graphics 620+ 16GB onboard. My new has the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (up to 4.8 GHz, 12 MB L3 cache, 8 cores, 8 threads) + Intel Arc 140V GPU (16GB) + 32 GB(onboard).
Because of my careful use, my previous laptop lasted way beyond its life. I purchased this one after it fully ran out. I wanted to have enough experience, including carrying it in my bag, to be able to provide insightful feedback. What I appreciate the most is the power of this version, the overall color, and the high-definition camera and acoustics. However, I do not like this keyboard and it is much heavier than my previous laptop. The charging cord is clunky.
