Purchased the OMEN Max laptop in mid-November, system has worked right out of the box with no issues. System updated automatically with previous MS PC. Even though this is labeled a gaming computer, I primarily use this for cybersecurity, finance, work, and school. The computer is more than what I needed for now, but should remain that way for the next couple years. Always buy a computer for what you may need in the future, not what you need in the moment. The colored keyboard is a little more than what I need, but the FN F4 key allows you to tunr it on/off, nice feature.
I purchased this computer to use as an all around work and gaming setup. I run Autodesk Fusion and so far this has been a huge upgrade for simulation, although I will note that I still can't run sim accuracy above 80% on complicated geometry, which may be more of a Fusion problem... I have also played a handful of games from Xbox gamepass and I haven't had any problems. My only complaint so far is the system trys to use the hyperX mouse hardware as the default for camera and microphone for apps like Microsoft Teams.
Pros: Good value for money specification-wise, premium design, great cooling system. Cons: Slow when switching between internal and dedicated GPUs. Also freezes and randomly shuts down sometimes when under heavy load from gaming. Overall, it's ok but I was expecting seamless operation for the price. I guess it was too much to ask.
This is my 2nd purchase of a Omen Gaming computer. The original one was a few years ago and it was awesome, superfast and responsive. Now I've purchased another Omen Gaming computer and am pleased with the additional features, more ram, all solid-state memory and more of it, increased screen height, runs cooler and with self-cleaning fans. And it has Intel's Ultra 9 processer! I am very pleased with my newest purchase, now even more awesome!
