We had an over the range microwave installed and it didn't help with our cooking smell at all. Specially in winter when we can't open windows it smelled horrible inside. We didn't want to call someone for install specially for the COVID. Tried cooking outside few days - but was getting hard due to cold. I researched this one and figured I will give this a shot as it looked reasonably light for self-install.
We received the unit and it was pretty well packaged with blue plastic wrapped - a little too tight to even remove in some places; like under rivets. But, that is a good thing, there was not a single scratch on the whole unit. We loved it since it was so light and it sucks air so much in a great way. I was able to use my car jack to stabilize and lift it for the install. My wife loves it. It looks super awesome and after the ducts were sealed properly it sucks everything out during cooking. We also love the manual timer you can add up to 60 mins (incremental by 1 min) - so it will continue running until that time. I would recommend this for anyone specially with lots of oily cooking.

Quality at reasonable price

We had a lighter duty Cosmo hood and decided, when the filters finally came apart and needed replacement, to check the other Cosmo offerings online. Saw that this heavier duty 380 CFM hood was available and decided to upgrade. We weren't disappointed. As the original, beautiful all-metal housing. Easy to install above our gas range. Much higher suction immediately noted without much noise or footprint increase. Very happy to have found Cosmo products and would definitely buy again. As an added bonus, the filters on this unit are designed for a much longer life than the lighter duty model.
I would recommend this to a friend!
