Excellent design and concept with near perfection

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hwv been a Samsung user fo more than a decade and certainly can say that the hardware and software quality has improved significantly. Devices look and feel great to use. Camera quality has been superb. With Fold 5, wanted to try out my fi st foldable device. It is little unusual design to have taller vs. wider. It's very easy to hold, no question but have hard time typing without making too many mistakes. It takes time getting used to this form factor. When open, emails, watching videos is amazing experience. Stylus works great in this mode too. Still feel when folded, the device should have little mor screen to make majority of the users type conveniently. Overall, happy with the the device so far and getting to learn more and fully use the multi tasking and apps in full screen mode. It is an expensive phone, wish they offered better deals to increase adoption.

My First Fold

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really, really wanted to love this phone and I'm 90% there. I've been a die hard Samsung fan since I can remember and I decided to make the jump from my beloved S22 Ultra to the new Z Fold5. I use this 50/50 as a business tool and personal communicator. I'm not much into social media or gaming, so it's mostly used for browsing, email and other productivity tools.
Things I love: the large screen makes it great for navigating around multiple apps that I use commonly and need on my workspace at the same time. This was a little cumbersome on a smaller screen. The processor seems to be quite fast and I have no complaints with speed. There are lots of bells and whistles that are included with this phone that are fun, but no necessarily crucial.
Things I miss: What happened to the 10x optical lens? I really would like to have that on my phone... I got used to it on the S22 and really miss it on the Fold.
Things that are awkward: It is difficult and clumsy to hold when the screen is open. I just can't seem to find a comfortable position to place it, especially with one hand. Also, it won't sit flat on a surface because of the camera protrusion, either open or folded. When you try to type, it rocks obnoxiously on the lens.

Best fold phone in the current market

I like the features, specially multi windows for different apps at the same time. Folding and opening is really smooth. Picture quality could have been better but I bought this phone mainly for gaming purposes and it's awesome.

Awesome but not Ultra.

The initial staring at the center of your screen looking for the crease is a thing that you will get over after about a week.
The crease disappears with time and the multi function abilities begin to shine through. No longer is there a need to leave apps to reply to a text or check an email. Videos play alongside while you work.
Most complaints with the front screen are that it's too small, but I think the idea here is to open the phone when more space is needed. How about using the dedicated assistant button? Works great!
The displays on both are amazing which honestly was a concern coming from Samsungs flagship ultra device.
There are two reason I cannot give this excellent device 5 stars.
One the aspect ratio when watching videos full screen. There becomes two very large black bars causing you to lose much of the gained screen size. If zoomed to fit full screen, the zoom is too tight causing you to lose video in the frame. Media consumption would be a primary reason to own such a device.
The other is the lack of zoom in the Camera department, anything beyond a 3x zoom seems to become a software "fingers crossed" situation.
All in all it is a great device, although until the two above items are fixed chances are I will switch back to an Ultra. Upgraded charging would also be nice.

Truly an all in one device

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was initially interested in the Fold due to its size since I'm a big guy with big hands. Beyond the novelty of the size, the functionality is astounding and I feel I'm only scratching the surface. It really is replacing my laptop more and more with the functionality and multi-window capabilities. It's a mini-laptop and now I want to get the Dex dock because it could just be my primary computer for work and play.
When i first got it, I was using the outside "regular" screen more, just out of habit for that form factor, but now the only time it's folded is when it's in my pocket.

Z Fold 5 is Amazing

The closed fold is perfect size for my small hands to hold while on a call and when I open to the tablet feature it is the perfect to read emails, watch video, answer texts with the perfect keyboard at the ready.

Game Changer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Z Fold 5 is an absolute game changer. It is a foldable phone yet, it is not very bulky. The flexible hinge on the phone very easily. There is a slight crease in the screen, which is barely noticeable when watching videos. I love the camera and zoom capabilities.
You can use the phone either folded or unfolded. I love the phones ability to scale any app or video to use the full length of the screen. There are a few caveats to using this phone, which led me to take off a couple stars. When switching from unfolded to folded position the screen shuts off. Also, if you were using an app while the phone was unfolded it has to restart before you can continue to use that app in the folded position. The lack of cases and accessories available for the phone. Most of the cases I have tried for the phone hinder its functionality. Due to fingerprint button being placed right next to the volume rock it make the phone hard to unlock a lot of the time. When I add a case into the mix it gets worse. Fingerprint scanner errors a lot and I have to manually unlock using a code.
