Galaxy Z Fold 5: Unrivaled Foldable Software

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The original Galaxy Note was considered a pioneer for the format. A larger canvas only goes so far, smart software to leverage that real-estate is paramount. The Galaxy Z Fold line continues that legacy and updates it for the age of foldable phones.
I work in a grant writing and research position at a non-profit and am a reservist in the US Air Force. Both of my jobs frequently rely upon viewing documents that are not practical to read on a conventional smartphone. The Galaxy Fold 5's aspect ratio and 7.6" diagonal means that I can actually read and annotate documents on the go. This is transformative for productivity and allows me to be that much more productive.
The battery life from the improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, newer generation OLED panels, and Samsung's software efficiency means I can reliably make it through a day on a charge, and I almost exclusively use the larger inner screen.
Finally, the Fold is the only foldable smartphone to offer IP68 ingress protection, it gives me peace of mind that mild contact with dust and water will not immediately destroy my foldable phone. That peace of mind is invaluable during a drill weekend at my reserve unit.
Samsung's multi-tasking software (3 windows at once and floating apps), the good lock modules, and overall system fluidity makes for an extremely refined foldable smartphone. Samsung is years ahead of the competition in this regard.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Z Fold5 is quite a smartphone with its two screens and all of its software features. I have been using it now for about two weeks and I’m still learning how to take advantage of all of the settings and features it provides. It’s large screen is it’s best feature, providing the ability to run apps on an almost square screen allowing two handed operation when desired as well as the ability to multitask, having several apps open simultaneously on this large screen. The cameras provided work extremely well, producing great pictures and videos.. The performance is fast with no noticeable lag or delay. The only negative aspect of this phone for me is its battery life. Without running any games or intensive apps, the battery level will drop 50% or more by evening. This is a new device, and I’m hoping that coming software updates, including One UI 6.0 with Android 14 will resolve this issue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fold user since the 3rd iteration of this foldable. Being able to have a mini tablet type phone and make phone calls is great. One of the major complaints is the subpar camera. Premium price should equal premium features, no excuses! Samsung needs to stay creative because things can change quickly Apple gets in the game.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am loving the fold 5 compard to the fold 3. The gap is getting smaller and smaller. And the shape of the phone is easier to hold, the only issue I have is even though this phone has a bigger battery, it seems to drain quickly when I have all the "bells and whistles" activated. Other than that overall great phone, Beautiful camera
