Fold5 is the Fold4 but with aesthetic improvements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Fold5 is a premier smartphone, but is very much an iteration of the Fold4. The Fold5 and the Fold4 share identical camera sensors, for example. The LED on the back did, however, get moved from the bottom of the camera stack to the top, just to the right of the first camera. The Fold5's combination fingerprint sensor and power key is slightly smaller than that of the Fold4--even if only by one or two millimeters--making slightly less easy to perfectly hit every time. A key difference is that the Fold5 has a noticeably different hinge design which allows the phone to close flat. Additionally, the Fold5 opens and closes almost silently whereas the Fold4's hinge always made some amount of noise. Disappointingly, Samsung continues to offer a top dollar phone, with no frills. In the box, you will find the phone, a USB cable, and that's it. No charger, no audio device of any sort, not even a dongle for you to plug in your headphones. At a premium price, the exclusion of any accessories whatsoever is a real bummer. The Fold5 is definitely a top-of-the-line phone, even if it is really just a Fold4 with a few design changes.

User experience is painful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The whole user experience is not what I expected. I know it is all software so it can be fixed but they are very large issues. If I am typing and I get a notification, it shuts down the keyboard and I can use it again. Applications never stay open either. I will.lock the phone and can pick it up 2 seconds later and the app I was using has to restart which takes forever.
I would 100% return the phone if I could.

Love this device, almost perfect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only three things missing for me from this phone are dust resistance, pen stored in the phone instead of a case and front screen pen support. None of these things are deal breaker for me. I've upgraded every year done Fold 3 and it's gets better every time. Little refinements that add to the overall usability in big ways.

The large scewwn is great for checking my emails as I can customize how I want to view them. Footprint is small when folded but easy to expand when I want to flip it open for larger view. I am glad I upgraded to this phone as it meets my phone wish list.

Best phone I've owned so far!

I have owned several different Galaxy Series phones and loved them all, but this Z Fold 5 tops them all. From function to battery life, I have nothing but good to say. I love the fact that I can quickly access the front screen for things like texting or phone calls and then, when it's time to relax with a video or game, I can open it up for a big screen experience. And the battery life! I sometimes work 12-14 hour days and still have plenty of juice left when I get home to relax with a game or two before placing it on the charger before bed. I made the choice to get the S Pen Fold 5 Edition (2023 sold separately) and I use it regularly as well jotting notes and highlighting areas on pictures for work. Having the S Pen just adds to what is already the most fun and functional phone I've ever owned. And if you're worried about this phone being fragile... forget it. It's solid. I had my concerns, but those have been laid to rest. Get yourself a decent case and it's good to go. My first Z Fold phone and I'm hooked!
