Cozy warmth...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Velocity 5R whole room space heater about 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I have been using it to warm my bedroom before I go to bed. I love how quiet it is can barely hear it. The display panel is convenient for monitoring the temperature, however you can turn it off if you want to keep your room dark. I works well to warm my 26x12 ft room in about 20 min. The remote is nice and compact and works from across the room this is a nice feature. I do wish the remote had a backlight to see it in the dark. I have been turning the heater on in the morning too before I get out of bed. It is nice not to have to step out of the blankets into the cold. I am really enjoying this space heater especially since we are entering the winter season.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm a fan of Vornado products, I own one desktop fan, and two large panel fans. I bought the 5R heater to help out this winter. It does what it's supposed to, but I would not recommend it. An oil filled radiant heater is a superior choice.. While during the daytime, I might like a warm 74*, but at night I'll turn the set temp to 66*. In this scenario, the Vornado 5R will shut off it's fan for about three minutes because the room temp is warmer than the set temp. Then the fan will spin up at HIGH speed for two seconds, then power down to LOW speed for six seconds and then turn off. So... HIGH, LOW, OFF every three or four minutes until the room cools enough for the SET temp to be reached, at which point it will power on and stay on continuously. This makes the product unsuitable for a bedroom where a person is trying to fall asleep.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Heats Quickly

I bought this looking to cut down on my Heating Bill. It works better than i had expected. it automatically adjust the power consumption based on the need to heat the room. On high it starts out around 1500W as the room heats up it drops to 750W and then all the way down to around 375W. The fan speed automatically adjust based on wattage being used.
The only downside I can see would be the noise when on High and running at full power is a little loud but it heats up fast and then gets quite as it reduces energy consumption while still keeping the room warm.

Very Noisy

I bought this heater because of the remote control and the timer features, which are nice features. This heater does work well to heat a small room; however, it is very loud. On high speed, it sounds like a box fan that can be heard upstairs when it is on downstairs. On low speed it has a low tone thumping sound. It is too loud to be left on when going to sleep. I own two other Vornado heaters and they can barely be heard, even on high speed. While this heater works, it is too loud to be used as a bedroom heater as I intended.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I returned it. Didn’t have the output of heat I expected from a Vornado product. Vornado is great to work with on returns and I would still buy their “Made in the USA” products!

Beautiful, convenient but loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The design if this heater is definitely superior than most space heaters in the market. I also absolutely love the convenience of having a remote control so I don't have to get up ever to turn it on or off. There are a few pros though. It is very loud! It doesn't bother me when it's on, but it s' only when I turn it off that I realized I actually feel relief and peace.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Small and powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a powerful small heater! I noticed a huge difference in temperature just 10 minutes after running it compared to a much larger infrared heater. It's got 3 settings for low, high, and a fan. The high and fan settings are equally loud. It sounds the same as a typical fan on low/medium. When you walk past it, it feels like a slight breeze with warm air. It doesn't feel extremely hot coming out but it heats a room very well. As it starts up, the fan blows to adjust to the current room temperature. If you move it, the slightest tilt will cause it to shut off. It's a great safety feature. Turning it off starts a 20 second count down. You can bypass that by lifting it up and it'll automatically shut off. I would prefer to have a raised power button or a larger screen on top. It's a smooth surface and sometimes I have to tap the buttons twice because they're tiny. This isn't a problem on the remote because the buttons are raised. This heater is excellent and well worth using in any room.

I use this heater when I don't need / want to heat up my whole house. I also use it in my RV when camping. Several great things about this heater: it heats up a room nicely, it's fairly small and easy to put away in a corner or under a table, it's got a remote (yay!), it's fairly quiet, nice safety features, 2 levels of power + fan only, you can set the temp you want. It doesn't get 5 stars because there's no tilt to the fan so it just points straight ahead. Also, it's not quiet when it's on high power, tho low power is quiet enough to sleep with. Overall a good heater and I recommend it.
