Not easy to install, but not as powerful as i thought, i used to have a 300cfm kitchen aid gallery series meaner than this one and powerfull motor lasted 22yrs and felt more powerfull than this one, but does the job, dont even know if u need to install it in a slope or leveled either. Its leveled now but i hope the grease travels to its pan. And not sit in the rails
Too soon for me to give 5 stars, but I like it so far. Not too loud on high settings. Not super quiet, but nothing will be at the high cfm levels. Pretty quiet at low levels. Buttons not very sensitive, sometimes have to press more than once. May be an issue. We'll see. Some hard 90 degree edges at the front corners of the hood. Would not be pleasant to hit your head on them if you're tall enough.Main negative is the relative difficulty of install. First, you will likely need to reconfigure your under cabinet blocking to install this hood. The screw holes are about 5" over from the sides. The two rear holes are behind the fans and harder to reach, so make sure you are not simultaneously trying to screw and hold the hood up. It's a 3 person job, unless you have something (poles, 2x4's, whatever) to bear the weight while your are installing the screws. Also, the location of the electrical cord outlet interferes with optimal blocking placement for the right rear screw hole. Design flaw. Also, measure your cabinet depth to insure the front edge of the cabinet lines up with the right line on the hood. The rear flat portion is exactly 12" to the start of the hood's downward slope. If your cabinet depth exceeds 12", then shim the hood forward as needed. Some backsplash tile did the trick for me. Not something you want to do at the moment you're installing the screws.Otherwise, it's a nice looking, functioning hood with dimensions not easy to find.Addendum: Some reviewers claim it's not powerful or it's too loud. Nonsense. It's very powerful and draws very well. Probably they have a duct work issue. I have never needed to go beyond 3 or 4 of the 6 speeds. Is it "loud" at the higher speeds? Yes, but that's unavoidable whatever unit you buy. You can only force so much air up through a 6" or 7" diameter duct., so with the high air velocity you also get air movement noise. Unless you want to upsize your duct, idealize it's configuration and/or get a unit with the fans' positioned well above the unit, in your attic for example, you are going to hear the fans. No way around it.
This has been a great range hood for our needs. We have a fairly large kitchen and the suction is perfect. I have cooked with garlic a few times since it was installed and there is absolutely no residual smell afterwards. It is a bit louder than I prefer but I will take the temporary noise any day over a kitchen that smells like the food I cooked hours ago. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Just a couple quibbles with an otherwise great product. First; install is not easy. The unit is heavy and getting to the anchoring screws is difficult. A mounting bracket would seem to be a great help. Once installed it looks great and I particularly like the dual lights which really illuminates the stove top. The fans, however, are very noisy even at the lowest setting so that I only use them for excessive smoke or grease. Lastly, a suggestion to the manufacturer. Instead of including all that conversion material, why not sell them for specific horizontal or vertical venting? I was shocked at how much excess stuff I had to throw away and of course there is the convenience factor of not having to do the conversion myself. But, all in all, I'm very happy with the product.
This range hood is a very sharp looking, stainless steel, sleek machine that delivers great suction at a reasonable noise level. The 3 under hood lights provide plenty of light too. Very easy hood to operate with the icons right in the front of the hood. Relatively easy to install and the installation manual was very clear.
