I am sorry to find you are having trouble with the drum. I'm not sure if that is the case here, but sometimes this will happen with a printer that is starting to wear out.
I'm not sure what type of printer you have, but there was a discussion about a problem like that on the HP Forum and it sounds like the general advice given there might help:
