I primarily bought this stand so that my monitor would be at a more comfortable viewing height. At the highest leg extension it fulfills that need and also provides plenty of desk space beneath it. Fully extended the opening beneath is 7.25 inches high allowing me to house the computer speakers a tray of office supplies stapler and other things. The top also has extra area for a small calculator sticky notes etc. A nice stand glad I bought it.
