Works like what I would it expect it to the only negative is that every time my desk is bumped it bounces a little bit but not enough to bother.

I didn't buy this for a monitor per se . . . I purchased it to put a 40" flat screen LG television on it in our bedroom. I used a small slab of solid surface counter-top material to give it the necessary width. The height of the stand allows me to put the cable box under the television.
