I like the stand because I can put the mail that needs to be dealt with there and it can't stack up too high or clutter my desktop before I get to it.

Steel Monitor Riser by Brita

This riser is just what I needed to give myself added space on my otherwise crowded desk. It is just the right height to allow me to slide my keyboard in so I can use my Wacom tablet. The stand is very sturdy and sized to also allow me to use my external drive next to the monitor base. I would recommend this to anyone to gain a greater utilization of working space.

Fits my ACER 17" monitor great. Raises it up to a good heigth since the monitor is not adjustable. Also fits my wireless logitech keyboard for easy storage. Better use of desk space.

exactly what I needed

I use my laptop as my main computer but was having problems sitting at my desk for hours on end. I purchased a flat screen monitor and keyboard but then ran out of useable desk space between the laptop computer monitor keyboard and other desk necessities. I started looking at risers and they all seemed outrageously expensive. Walked into Staples on a whim found this and picked it up. It works like a dream for me. Not only does it hold my 19 inch monitor but I can store my laptop underneath the shelf! The material is sturdy and not hideous. The price was right. No complaints here!

Though it's touted as a monitor stand; we use it to raise our laptops up for a better viewing height using an external keyboard. It works GREAT. The perforations allow excellent airflow for keeping laptops cools. An excellent item; we're ordering our third one for yet another laptop...

I use one of these to raise my monitor at work for better viewing. I also bought one for home to raise my 22" LCDTV up so that I can place the HD receiver underneath. Item is quite sturdy inexpensive and suitable for many applications in the office and at home. I have plans to purchase more of these for the office. I find it provides easier viewing of monitors in general.
